Awww me lovely, yesterday (seen as I’m much too lazy to blog on the same day as the work) we cut off all the front panels to see what we had to do, after a bit of mishap a crow bar managed to weed it’s way into the radiator, so a new one of those will now be needed. After removing her shell we found that the front cross member was bent back by 3cm so the next job will be trying to bend that bugger back into place. Good day, the nose panel came through the post too, wonderful.
Today we spent an hour or so sorting the points and putting in a new 12 volt condenser which I finally managed to get from Eldon Motor Spares. After a bit of tweaking finally got the power to run through and got the engine running. Needs the engine setting up now, once we get all the panels sorted and if we survive the night without Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
Today my padre took off the bonnet and cut off the nearside wing to see what damage we had to deal with underneath. We found that the inner wing is very rusty and bent so that’s going to need replacing for sure, we also found some steering and suspension damage which is gonna have to be sorted. The condenser is done for so I set out into town to find another, which was unsuccessful and had to order one. We set the timing and tried to get her running but the condenser wasn’t having it for long. Got her going long enough to move her out of the garage but then she packed in again. So it was a big push to get her back into the garage in a tiny little corner set for the night.
Today we managed to get her running long enough to drive her the 5 yard out of the garage, the 5 yard was all she made.
Things that she needs are;
